Welcome to

Bluegumhill Guesthouse & Apartments

Bluegum Hill Guesthouse is a warm and welcoming family double storey house, lovingly decorated to reflect the colours and culture of South Africa. Breathtaking panoramic views are seen from our open plan kitchen, dining room, top and bottom lounges, large balcony and pool deck, as well as our six well kept and characterful en-suite bedrooms.

We are situated on the top-most road of Upper Green Point, one of Cape Town’s most up-market residential areas and close to the City Centre and the world famous Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, yet it is remarkably quiet.

Our panoramic 180 degree views stretch across Table Bay to Robben Island, the 2010 Soccer World Cup Stadium, the V&A Waterfront with its working Harbour and the coastal suburb of Mouille Point with its’ Lighthouse and seaside promenade. See the waves breaking on the shoreline of Robben Island. Across the bay, lies Bloubergstrand with the Tygerberg Hills in the background.

Africa’s colourful history and warmth are reflected in our artistic décor, warm friendly atmosphere and good old-fashioned South African hospitality. Sleep in one of our six characterful, well equipped bedrooms and wake to a generous Full English alfresco breakfast. Let us help organise your days sightseeing trips and later enjoy sundowners around our sparkling salt-water pool.

Reviews

Ughetta greeted us on arrival, such was her personality both my wife and I felt relaxed. The Guest House is situated up a steep road with panoramic views from the rear aspect overlooking the Stadium in the middle with the Quays to the right and Three Anchor Bay to the left. Ughetta obtained assistance with transferring our luggage from our car to our room. Our room no. 5 overlooked the panoramic scene, was spacious with a separate large bathroom porcelain non-slip tiles, shower, wash basin and bath.

"A quality Guest House owned by two sisters whose forte is to please their guests"

We returned to Bluegum with some of our family so they could experience the views from the guesthouse and the excellent service from Aissa and Ughetta and their small team. We were not disappointed and in fact enjoyed the stay even more second time around. Our family too loved the stay. The owners were so accommodating, helping with bookings and other arrangements. When one of our party was unwell they could not do enough to make our stay as comfortable as possible. I am sure we will be returning for a 3rd visit in the future.

"Second visit and still fabulous"

Ughetta and Aissa Parenti are host/owners of an outstanding Guest House in the Green Point section of Cape Town. This Guest House is located in a very safe neighborhood with amazing views of Cape Town, the water and the soccer stadium.

When we arrived, we were greeted warmly by the staff and Ughetta who provided my wife and I with a wealth of information that would prove helpful throughout our stay in Cape Town. She even planned a take away breakfast when we advised her of what day we would be visiting Robben Island. We subsequently met Aissa, who was equally as warm and helpful as her sister. She provided access to one of the three garages for our rental car which was very convenient and provided added peace of mind. Note however, that there is some street parking and a security guard is on duty at night. After we had returned our rental vehicle, we were able to use Uber which provided excellent service to and from Bluegum Hill.

During our visit we had the pleasure of meeting Aissa’s lovely dog, Mila. I challenge any guest not to fall in love with this beautiful dog!

We were in Room 2, which was very comfortable and had a lovely terrace, which led down to a small pool. The room had a safe, television and plenty of storage. The bathroom had a large soaking tub with a separate shower stall. The bathroom also had a bidet in addition to the toilet.

Breakfast was included and was very good. The buffet included croissant, muffins, fruit salad, cereals, yogurts, fruit juices, tea and coffee. In addition, English breakfast items can be cooked to order; this includes, eggs cooked to order, bacon and beef sausage. The breakfast was available from 8:00am to 11:00am and was a delicious start to our days in Cape Town.
Each room also had a complimentary tea and coffee service and a few delicious cookies. On the lower level there is a very reasonably priced honor bar (a full sized refrigerator) with a variety of beverages and snacks for guests to choose from.

Aissa, Ughetta and the Bluegum Hill staff really made us feel like honored guests at their home. Our stay at Bluegum Hill made our time in Cape Town even more special than it already was.
